Protection Application:: Keypads and various buttons can be an entry way for ESD into an application. These circuits are low-voltage DC switches, typically less than 5VDC, so capacitance is not a concern.
Solution Description:: The examples contain four lines for demonstration purposes. The actual number will vary by application. A single diode array cab be used to reduce part count. Discrete diodes can also be used to provide the greatest board layout flexibility.
